We believe meaningful change begins in a space of safety, respect, and genuine connection. With deep care and thoughtful practice, we hold space for each person’s unique journey. Our approach is grounded in trust, professionalism, and a commitment to growth — empowering individuals to reconnect with their inner strength and move toward lasting change.
At Manchester Psychotherapy Clinic, we believe in taking a holistic approach to therapy, treating the whole person and not just their symptoms. We use evidence-based techniques and work collaboratively with our clients to help them achieve their goals.
Our practice is led by two experienced directors, Jo and Sophie, both qualified psychotherapists and clinical supervisors. Jo brings over 14 years of experience working within the NHS and charity sectors, with a focus on end-of-life care, life-limiting diagnoses, and anticipatory grief. She is person-centred in approach, trained in single session work and Critical Incident management. Sophie has 7 years’ experience across charity, corporate, and private sectors, with a strong focus on complex trauma and neurodiversity. She is person-centred, EMDR trained, and brings a thoughtful, integrative perspective to her work. Together, Jo and Sophie offer a depth of clinical insight and a shared commitment to compassionate, client-led care.
Our practice is located in a quiet, discreet space in the heart of Manchester city centre. Easily accessible and thoughtfully designed, our therapy rooms offer a calm, temperature-controlled environment to support comfort and focus. For those who prefer or require flexibility, we also offer remote sessions, ensuring access to support wherever you are.

Specialist in End-of-Life Therapy, Terminal Diagnosis, Anxiety & Emotional Wellbeing
I’m an experienced and registered member of the BACP psychotherapist with over 15 years of practice across the NHS, charity sector, private therapy, and employee assistance programmes (EAPs). I hold a BSc and Postgraduate Diploma in psychotherapy and counselling, and I’m also a qualified Clinical Supervisor, supporting other professionals in safe and ethical therapeutic work.
My specialist areas include working with individuals facing end-of-life issues, terminal diagnoses, and bereavement. This work is deeply personal and emotionally complex, and I aim to provide a safe, steady presence where clients can process their experience with honesty, dignity, and care.
Alongside this, I also work extensively with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and a wide range of mental health concerns. My therapeutic style is person-centred, solution-focused, and always tailored to the unique needs of each individual. Whether a client is navigating grief, uncertainty, or the challenges of everyday life, I offer a calm, non-judgmental space in which they can explore, reflect, and begin to heal.
I’ve worked in a wide range of clinical settings—from hospices and hospitals to national charities and high-pressure corporate environments—and I bring both emotional depth and clinical precision to my work. I’m committed to providing the highest standard of care, grounded in professionalism, empathy, and integrity.
Clients working with me can expect a confidential, supportive, and highly personalised therapeutic experience. I work collaboratively, always at a pace that feels right for you, helping you make sense of your thoughts and feelings and supporting you in finding strength and clarity, whatever you may be facing. My aim is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and genuinely supported throughout your journey.
